    Proso millet, also known commonly as broomcorn millet, is extensively cultivated in the regions of China, India, Nepal, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Middle East, and the United States. The crop has an extremely short life cycle with some of the varieties capable of producing grain within 60 days of the plantation. Proso millet has a very low water requirement and produces more grain per unit of moisture than any other grain species. 

    Proso millet is relative of foxtail millet, pearl millet, maize, and sorghum and contains the same health benefits as its contemporaries.
