Crankshafts are rotating shafts which convert the corresponding movement of the pistons into rotating motion. Often containing a series of cranks and crankpins joined with rods, they are mainly employed in engines that work on internal combustion. The pistons are connected to the offset shafts present in the crank, which allow the up and down movement of the pistons to be turned into rotating motion. Crankshafts are usually connected to a flywheel, which evens out the rotating motion.
