Himalayan salt is a halite mineral that is often used in food as a replacement for common salt. Besides being used in cooking, Himalayan salt is also used for food presentation, decorative lamps, and spa treatment.

According to local legends, Himalayan salt was discovered by the army of Alexander The Great.
