Resham, also known as silk, is a protein fibre that can be woven into textiles. The main component of protein fibre is fibroin which is produced by specific insect larvae. The shining appearance of silk comes from the prism-like structure of the silk fibre. Due to the structure of the fabric, the light falls on it and refracts at different angles, producing different colours.
