Meaning of Malmal in English. How does Muslin look like

Malmal is also known as Muslin. It is a cotton fabric of plain weave that is made in a wide range of weights. The earlier muslins were named malmal and were hand-woven fabric made with handspun yarns. Even handcrafted muslins of that time had more than 2425 thread count, which is astonishing even with today’s technology. 

Originally, muslins were made out of cotton only, which resulted in very thin, light, transparent and delicate fabric.
